Boy, do I have a wedding for you today. Ashley and Jeff are officially married and had the most gorgeous Canvas Lake Nona wedding day on Friday! I’m going to do my best to share in words the best moments of this day, but I promise you’ll want to see the photos more. So, let’s dive in!
I first met Ashley during the proposal of her matron of honor, Sasha. We became closer with each event I photographed for her best friend and I couldn’t be happier to know the sweetest soul. At the last wedding, she pulled me aside and said “I don’t know when it is happening, but when Jeff proposes to me, I want you for our wedding.” Well, here we are, guys! Jack and I were truly honored to photograph the most special day for one of the best couples we know. We truly bonded over this planning process and I saw just how perfect Jeff was for Ashley. I could not wait for their Canvas Lake Nona wedding day to arrive, and I’m so glad to share it with you today.
I had a few favorite moments from Ashley and Jeff’s Canvas Lake Nona wedding day, but let me start with my absolute favorite. This was the first looks. We had FOUR during this wedding day and each one was more and more special. The first of the first looks was with Ashley and her bridal party. She wanted to make sure she could surprise the ladies, and she most certainly did. The number of tears we had on this wedding day was probably record-breaking, and it started with the bridal party!
The next first looks were with Ashley’s dads. She made sure to equally share the day with the most important men in her life, and this included her dad, David, and step-dad, Chad. Each of their first looks was so emotional. They were both so in awe of their little girl and how stunning she looked. Although we were in hustle mode during this wedding day, it was so nice to slow down and have the moment with her dads.
The final first look was the most important one, as it was with Ashley and Jeff. Ashley knew Jeff was going to break down, and she was right. When Ashley called Jeff’s name, he turned around the most gorgeous bride. He couldn’t hold the emotions back and it had me tearing up behind the camera. They paused the world around them to just be with each other. It was such a special moment.
Another favorite moment of mine from this Canvas Lake Nona wedding day was the toasts. The maid of honor, Nicole, kicked everything off sharing how much her sister meant to her, as well as how she knew Jeff was the perfect match. The best man, Kory Don shared about his decades-long friendship with Jeff, being each other’s best men, and the day Jeff called him to tell him about Ashley. Finally, Sasha made the whole room cry with her speech about her 20-year friendship with Ashley. Sasha has a tough exterior and Jeff was so nervous to meet her! Sasha knew he was perfect for her, but the wedding ceremony cemented it in for her. While Ashley was looking at the officiant to try to keep her composure, Jeff was looking right at her and showing how much he cared for and loved her.
My final favorite moment from this Canvas Lake Nona wedding day was our portrait time together. The world melted away during each of our times together. Ashley and Jeff could not stop laughing and loving on each other, which obviously makes for the perfect portraits! They could just be themselves and let the stress go. I think the part I loved most from our portrait time was when Jack and I had to separate the couple for their solo portraits. While we were only 10 feet away from one another, they kept peeking glances at their new spouse. At one point, Ashley was just tearing up and saying “damn, that’s my husband!!”. It was absolutely perfect.
Ashley and Jeff, I know I told you so many times on your wedding day, but we just love you guys. It was truly such an honor that you chose us to capture your most special day surrounded by your loved ones. I am SO excited for what the future holds for you both. And you know I’m just an email away when those babies come!! I hope you enjoy your massive sneak peek.
