Dinosaur Cake Smash Session
Are you ready for some cuteness overload? Our dear little friend, Gentry, and his amazing family are back on the blog today! If you are long-time Haleigh Nicole followers, you may remember this sweet little boy from his Fresh 48 session and his lifestyle newborn session a little less than a year ago! In just a few weeks, Gentry will be turning ONE! Time flies by SO quickly (especially in a pandemic)! This weekend, we celebrated his birthday officially out of quarantine with a dinosaur cake smash session.
Gentry is oh so full of personality. From his cute little laughs playing with his mom and dad, to the smirks when realizing how good cake tastes, I couldn’t stop smiling during this dinosaur cake smash session. This first birthday session was also filled with love from outside guests! A dear family friend of the Martins lent us their 10 acres to photograph on at sunrise, and a co-worker’s wife made the most ADORABLE dinosaur smash cake.
First Birthday Session
We started the first birthday session out in the field with a gorgeous sunrise (but MAN it got hot quick. Thanks, Florida!). Gentry had so much fun laughing with his parents. He sported matching Michigan outfits with his dad and cuddles with his mom. Gentry LOVED exploring the land. He is such a mover! As the rain clouds started moving in, we moved to the gazebo area for his cake smash portion of the session.
I was LOVING the dinosaur cake smash cake and even requested one from Jack for my birthday next week! At first, Gentry was NOT having anything to do with sitting and waiting for his cake to arrive. He just wanted to keep adventuring! When the cake was finally in front of him, Gentry got a taste of how good it was, and that little smirk started coming out. He really wanted to share with his parents, so everyone joined in! At the end of the session, we found Gentry just crawling up and down the very small step into the grass over and over. It brought him so much joy, and no one wanted to stop him!
I really took for granted human connection and interaction in the past 24 years of my life. Being in quarantine was great for my introverted self, but being around families like the Martins for Gentry’s dinosaur cake smash session really showed me what I was missing. I loved hanging out with these three this weekend and I can’t wait to see Gentry grow even more. Take a peek at his session below and let us know what you think in the comments!
