The twins are back, and they are celebrating their mom’s birthday at Splitsville! Today, I’m sharing a Disney Springs family session with the Patel and Simmons family.
If you’ve been around here a while, you know this is NOT the first time I’ve photographed the Simmons family. They’re one of my favorite families on the planet, so when everyone is in town for a special occasion, we always seem to find a way to get together! Whether we’re celebrating a milestone for the twins, a family reunion, or a birthday, I love adventuring through life with this family. Our sessions so far have been based in the Simmons or Patel home due to the twins being so young. This session might be the most special because it was the first (of many) adventure sessions! PLUS, we were celebrating Puja’s birthday in the most fun way possible!
Puja and Michael’s sweet baby boys, Ari and Kai, were born in February. I have been blessed to be a part of every major milestone since! The Simmons and Patel families have taken me in as one of their own and are the absolute sweetest. When Puja asked if I could block out her birthday for a family session, of course I said yes! The original plan was to head to the Magic Kingdom for the twins’ first visit, but with the forecast looking grim, we changed it up.
We planned a trip to Splitsville for a Disney Springs family session. For those who don’t know, Splitsville is an AWESOME bowling alley that used to be a Virgin Records shop (if you can remember that store from so long ago)! We started our session updating the family’s photos in Disney Springs since the twins are getting so big. Everyone gathered to celebrate Puja’s birthday, so I was able to meet some extra family members that weren’t around last time! I was fully expecting the four children to be miserable because of the Florida heat. We all moved very fast as a group, but they both did SO much better than we thought! We captured fun times, cousin bonding, and everyone got a chance with Ari and Kai!
The family then went to the air conditioning (thank you to every Orlando shop for having this) to cool off and get ready for bowling! Everyone started by taking a ride on the escalator. I bet you’ve never seen one family take up an entire side before! Puja’s father showed off his bowling skills and the older kids had a blast pushing the ball down the lane. The twins relaxed with the family members and everyone celebrated Puja.
Even though we didn’t shoot very long, I just HAD to share a some of my favorites with you! No family is perfect and that’s what makes them great. I loved capturing the fun moments the family had together. I can’t wait for the next session in September! 6 months, here we come!
