Colleen and Kelston had waited over two years for their Dr Phillips House wedding in Downtown Orlando. Nothing, not even a pandemic, was going to stop their wedding from happening. After 5 different wedding dates, the day finally arrived. Getting to celebrate their wedding with them was truly an honor! Let’s dive in!
I first connected with Colleen in 2019 as she was planning her destination wedding in Orlando. She had the perfect venue picked out: the Dr Phillips House. It’s such a lovely hidden gem in Downtown Orlando that is perfect for intimate gatherings. Their wedding was set for April 3, 2020. As we approached their wedding day, however, the world decided to change everyone’s plans. Unfortunately, every attempt they made to reschedule their wedding day was knocked down by the pandemic due to Kelston’s family coming from Trinidad. International travel was shut down. But, they didn’t let that stop them. They were determined to have their closest friends and family there, and 5 wedding dates later, it finally happened.
Fast forward to this past Friday! The couple made their way to Orlando from Ohio for their wedding. Colleen and Kelston had the most perfect intimate Dr Phillips House wedding on a gorgeous October day. Their friends and family were all able to celebrate the love of these two amazing people! Colleen and Kelston were the most chill, sweet, and down-to-earth couple I have ever met. It was extremely important to them that the guests were all taken care of. The couple was also up for anything we suggested when it came to photos!
One of my favorite parts of this Dr Phillips House wedding day was the intimate nature of the event. The couple had around 40-50 guests, which made it so perfect to interact with everyone who was able to join in the celebration. I loved that they were able to talk with and enjoy the company of their guests. This is difficult to do at many large weddings! They also were able to enjoy the seclusion and peacefulness of this picturesque wedding venue (after the helicopter left!!).
Another favorite part of this Dr Phillips House wedding was the surprise the couple planned for their guests! They had a twist on a traditional Italian dance by circling up and waving around their napkins. The couple also had been practicing a beautiful Foxtrot for their wedding day! Colleen and Kelston’s guests thought they would have an awkward first dance, and they truly blew them away.
Colleen and Kelston, I know it has been a wild ride to get here. But, your intimate Dr Phillips House wedding day was simply gorgeous. Jack and I were so blessed to be a part of it.
