Beautiful Winter Historic Dubsdread Wedding Day in Winter Park

I am so freaking excited to share that two of my favorite people, Rachel and David, tied the knot with a Historic Dubsdread wedding this weekend! It was such a magical day, filled with love, laughter, and all the emotion I have so many things to say about this beautiful and emotional day, but first, a backstory.

Meeting the Bride and Groom

I first met Rachel and David when she reached out to me about headshots for school back in 2019. Rachel is a theatre major at Jacksonville University and David is in the Navy. They drove all the way from Jacksonville to meet me in Downtown Winter Garden for the session. From the moment I saw these two together, I knew they were going to be married someday. I’m 95% sure I told them right there and then!!

Over the past two years of photographing them and Instagram creeping, I have loved watching Rachel and David’s love story blossom. I can imagine it’s not easy with David’s deployment, but they make it work as an amazing team. When I saw that they were engaged, I literally ran to my husband and yelled “CALLED IT!!!”. I was truly honored when they asked us to capture their love story again for their Historic Dubsdread wedding day.

Deployment

Rachel and David’s wedding came a bit quicker than we all expected. When they first reached out to me for their wedding, they had planned for May of 2022. David’s orders came in and he was being stationed in Italy after Rachel’s graduation from college. So, we all joined forces to move the wedding up! Rachel’s step-sister, Nicki, had the entire day planned and every detail mapped out (true rockstar over there!!). Everything came together so beautifully and it was such a magical day.

Favorite Moments from The Historic Dubsdread Wedding Day

Although it was stressful at the time, one of the most memorable and special moments of Rachel and David’s Historic Dubsdread wedding day was their first look. As many of you know, Rachel and David’s had their engagement session last month at Universal, and it was a true Notebook moment. Straight downpour. But they were such troopers and we made it happen!!

The same thing happened for just the first look of the wedding day. The wedding party joined forces to stop the cars coming into the venue and the couple was able to share an intimate first look in the pouring rain on their wedding day. Rachel called out David’s name and told him to turn around. David immediately broke into tears and was awed at the beauty of her bride-to-be. So much of the anxiety from a wedding day is waiting to see your future spouse, which is why I love first looks so much. This one was no exception, no matter how it had to happen.

Another favorite moment of mine from their Historic Dubsdread wedding day was the first look and dance with Rachel’s dad. Any dad moment really gets to me and seeing the interaction between Rachel and her dad had me secretly bawling. Both Rachel and her dad tried to hold back their tears when he saw her for the first time out by the ceremony location. His little girl was all grown up and looked radiant! Then, during the father and daughter dance, the two sang “My Little Girl” by Tim McGraw together and shared a heartwarming moment together. They sang directly to David during the song too, which had us all laughing.

Love and Support

There were too many amazing moments during Rachel and David’s wedding, but the last one that really stuck out to me was how much support these two had from their family and friends. Rachel and David are a Tinder connection gone amazing. Every single person in their wedding party and family was cheering on their relationship and were so supportive of their love. It showed so much during their wedding day too. The wedding party would do absolutely anything to make sure their day went well. The speeches from the family, maid of honor, and best man truly showed how much they cared for the couple. Every action, every post, every moment was just support and love for these two. Rachel and David are truly a one-of-a-kind couple and we are all so blessed to have them in our lives.

Rachel and David, you don’t know how much it means to myself and Jack to have been a part of your big day. You two are just the sweetest, genuine people who can make us laugh like no others. Every moment we get to spend with you is amazing and we just love you guys. I cannot wait to see you again for Rachel’s graduation and you know we will come to Italy for you!!
