Have you ever met someone for the first time and already feel like you’ve known them forever?? I feel this way with many of my clients, but Darshini really gave that to me this weekend! From the moment we met, I truly felt like we were friends for such a long time. Maybe it’s the Instagram friendship we formed over the past few months or that we will both soon be UCF graduates? I don’t know! But what I do know is that I am SO excited to share her Orlando graduation session at UCF with you today! This session shows some of the many reasons I love being a UCF graduation photographer!
This session was a bit different than most of ours due to the fact that we shot in the pouring rain! When we woke up Saturday morning, the skies weren’t so pretty, but the forecast showed it clearing up before Darshini’s fall graduation session. It hadn’t rained all day by us! But, when we arrived at UCF and got our gear out of our car, the rain did NOT play nice.
We finally caught up with Darshini and her family (who were SUCH a blast and so down to earth!!!) and had to make a decision. One of the main spots on the UCF campus for graduates, the Reflection Pond, was being drained the next day, so there really wasn’t a chance for rescheduling. Plus, we were already there! She was down to dance it out in the pouring rain with her champagne bottle, and honestly? They’re some of my favorite fountain photos to date. I LOVED how flexible and go with the flow she was during her Orlando graduation session!!
After we got out of the fountain, the rain stopped (of course) and we continued on our journey throughout campus. Her family was cracking jokes with us left and right, and were seriously such a fun group to wander the immense UCF campus with. One of my other favorite moments from Darshini’s Orlando graduation session took place at the Knights statue. Her brother, Jay, helped her climb up on the statue, but he had to get some of the champagne after. Darshini danced her way to opening the bottle and after getting a sip of her own, gracefully shared with her brother! But, her dad wasn’t going to be left behind. He jumped in behind Jay and made sure to get some for himself! So much fun!
Darshini, we absolutely adore you and your entire family. Thank you for being so easy-going and trusting us to capture this moment in time for you. YOU MADE IT THROUGH A COVID GRADUATION GIRL!!! You should be so so proud. I cannot wait to see where your journey takes you next with your Elementary Education degree from UCF! Welcome to the Alumni family!!
