I told myself I would never go to Park Ave on a Saturday because it is CRAZY busy. But, when Alexis and Kyle listed it as one of their preferred locations for their engagement session, I couldn’t say no! It has always been one of my dream locations to photograph… Saturdays are just a lot. We took on this Park Ave engagement session, though, and I think it may be my favorite session ever.
Meeting the Couple
In 2020, I decided that I would run a special every few months for a free engagement session. Planning my own wedding now, I know how hard it is to choose vendors you love, and I wanted to relieve some of the stress from the photography side. Gifting 5 couples an engagement session BEFORE booking allowed them to get to know us and our style before investing in us (because we know that can be scary!!). I chose 5 amazing couples and Alexis and Kyle were one of them.
Alexis, Kyle, and I had a Skype call a few weeks ago to meet before their engagement session. I love getting to know my couples and their stories a bit more beforehand! As soon as we got on the call, they explained that they knew us a bit already because Kyle went to school with one of our grooms and worked with his bride-to-be! You can check out their engagement session here. Kyle also worked with Jack at the Garden Theatre on multiple shows, including one coming up this June! What an insanely small world.
Their Story
Kyle and Alexis met on the dating app, Bumble (which has worked WONDERS for so many of our clients!!). They went on their first date to get drinks at the Boathouse at Disney Springs. The pair chatted and had a wonderful time, but Alexis didn’t think he was interested… until he walked her to her car. They stayed next to her car talking for another 30 minutes. She immediately started to feel deeply for him. Two weeks later, Alexis knew she loved him and Kyle was her guy. Kyle felt the same way and told her he loved her.
Kyle said that he felt Alexis had always been a part of his life in some way. They both love trying new things and experiences, but they love just each other’s company. Alexis and Kyle balance each other out in many ways. Alexis has exposed Kyle to her world and Kyle has exposed her to his. Kyle said he rarely meets another person who cares about others as much as Alexis. He knew she was the one when he felt like she was a part of his family. Kyle couldn’t envision his life without Alexis and knew it was time to propose.
The Proposal
Kyle left Alexis a series of cryptic clues that culminated in an address and password of where she needed to go. He pretended like he didn’t know who was sending her the stuff (in a pretty obvious way), so they went together to what turned out to be Hanson’s Shoe Repair in Downtown Orlando. It is one of Alexis’s favorite spots in the city. While she was in the restroom, Kyle brought out a rubber duck that he had purchased from the Boathouse. He told her how much their relationship meant to him and how he wanted to spend his life with her. On December 20, 2019, Kyle got down on one knee and she said yes! They spent the rest of the evening grabbing Lazy Moon Pizza and watching the Mandalorian at home.
Winter Park Engagement Photographer at Park Ave
From the moment I met Alexis and Kyle in person, I knew that this Park Ave engagement session was going to be a blast. They definitely had different personalities, but they really balanced each other. Jack and I drove around Park Ave before they arrived to find some super secluded places away from the chaos, and they turned out to be so dreamy! Alexis and Kyle were such troopers walking around Winter Park with us. From numerous churches and random homes, to the waterfront and fountains, the possibilities of this shoot were endless. Alexis and Kyle were up for anything and kept the laughter going throughout the session. We had such a fun time during this Park Ave engagement session and you really couldn’t tell that anyone was around, even on the busiest day of the week! I will DEFINITELY go back 🙂
Take a peek into their Park Ave engagement session below! We are so excited for Kyle and Alexis who will be tying the knot this summer. Thank you so much for having us!!

"We had previously experienced Haleigh's work at my brother's wedding and we knew we had to have her for our wedding as well! Haleigh is an exceptionally gifted photographer and as we viewed the wedding album we got more and more excited about each wonderful moment that was perfectly captured. We loved how easy it was to work with Haleigh and all of the fun and creative ideas that she had to create some truly special pictures. Haleigh actually came up to the DC area for us - not once, but twice (engagement and wedding pics)! And yet despite the distance, it was really and truly easy to work with her."

"Haleigh and Jack are two of the most amazing, sincerest individuals that I have ever worked with! We adore them so much and they made my fiancé and I feel like pros while taking pictures. We had initially had our engagement pictures taken by someone else and they were really disappointing, so we turned to Haleigh and Jack and they made us feel so comfortable, had a BLAST (who knew taking pictures in the Florida heat could be fun?!), and our photos turned out so much more than amazing. We have found our forever photographer and we are so grateful to have had the experience to work with Haleigh and Jack (and of course Rocky, too!)"

""Haleigh and Jack are amazing! They had our wedding date available only three months out and their prices are ridiculously reasonable. They both take such amazing photos and Haleigh goes out of her way to make you feel special and pamper you a little bit. She even has an exclusive FB page for her brides where we all share tips and ask questions. Their photos are incredible and their post processing really gave us the feeling we were looking for in our photos. Plus, we got our photos back in less than two weeks! Lastly, my new husband isn’t the most social in the world and was nervous about having someone in his ready room but Jack made him totally comfortable and they got along great.""
