Oh man, do I have a fun wedding for you today! After three attempts, Siobhan and Bobby FINALLY got to tie the knot this past Saturday with a Scottish wedding at Cobblestone Courtyard and Lake Runnymede. Tropical Storm Eta’s outer bands tried its hardest to make an appearance, but Siobhan and Bobby’s love pushed it away to create a gorgeous wedding day. Their wedding was so full of love and precious family moments that any hiccups along the way didn’t matter. I cannot wait to share this day with you!
Siobhan and Bobby had two beautiful locations for their Scottish wedding. They started out with their ceremony at one of my favorite places in my tiny home of St. Cloud: Lake Runnymede. It is known for its sprawling oak trees with Spanish moss. When I heard that this is where they were getting married, I was jumping for joy. Angie and her team from Cobblestone Courtyard set up chairs and rustic lanterns in the middle of this hidden oasis to create the most stunning backdrop for their ceremony. After the ceremony, the guests headed down the street to Cobblestone Courtyard for an intimate reception. The high ceilings, white walls, and wooden ceilings gave off the perfect rustic vibe for the reception.
There were so many amazing moments about this wedding that I want to share! One of the biggest things that struck me, though, was a virtual guest that joined the wedding day. Siobhan’s sister, Lindsay, was stuck in Scotland due to the strict COVID restrictions, and couldn’t make it in person to the wedding day. Her brother, Jason, was able to Zoom Lindsay in to the wedding to see Siobhan and Bobby tie the knot!
Lindsay was also able to be a part of the family portraits and party at the reception with the family. I think she might have even had her own lights going in her home!! Lindsay also gave a heartwarming speech during the reception that left no dry eyes in the room. COVID hit this family hard this year and after the third wedding attempt, it was so sweet to have everyone together, even if some of it was virtual.
Another factor that I loved about this wedding was how Siobhan and Bobby brought in Siobhan’s Scottish heritage into the wedding. They had a bagpiper lead the processional and recessional of their ceremony! Siobhan’s family was also in classic Scottish kilts for the wedding day. Even her little boy, Callum, was in a kilt!! How adorable is that?? During the wedding, the family danced along to some Scottish hits and really brought the party to life.
Siobhan and Bobby, I know you guys had some rough patches to finally make it to this day, but I honestly couldn’t have pictured a better setting for your gorgeous wedding. You made it!!! Jack and I were so honored to be a part of your day and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for your family. We are cheering you on!!
