Sharks & Minnows Swim School
Sharks & Minnows has very quickly become a huge franchise for swim lessons. It was created in 1990 by Andy Heinrich as a one-man, one-pool operation. It now has over 50 employees and 30 Florida locations, including the Winter Garden area! This swim school builds a curriculum around your needs as a swimmer. You get private lessons which allow you to decide what you want to learn and improve on! Sharks & Minnows starts swim lessons as young as 6 months, teaching safety and survival for younger students. They also teach professional freestyle for older kids and adults alike! Prices range from $310 ( for 8 private classes – $165 for 8 group classes ).

This is by far one of my favorite swim lesson destinations because it’s a fun and unique one! It is a little outside of Winter Garden, but it’s perfect as it is literally meant for any age. The Mermaid Academy is a location where you can live your full mermaid fantasy. The Mermaid Academy allows you to learn all while playing and using your imagination to become everyone’s favorite undersea fantastical creature. This unique experience is run by a staff of professional and educated instructors who make safety and fun their #1 priority. Plus they host birthday parties, so you and your little ones can have the most amazing time flipping your fins. The Mermaid Academy provides a range of rental fins as well as fins for purchase.
