The holidays are my absolute favorite time of year, starting with Thanksgiving. Family is the most important part of my life and the holidays are when we are all able to be together. This year is a little different, though. My family is spread out across the country and I have started my own small family with Jack. The family has grown with the addition of Jack’s family and I couldn’t be happier with all of the support we have from each side. We split the holidays now, which is new for me, but it brings us all closer together in the end.
As many of you may know (because it’s all I ever post about personally), we rescued a sweet 7 year old cocker spaniel named Rocky in August. Through this rescue, we have become stronger as a family unit. He brings so much joy and laughter to all of us. Rocky did not have much in his former life and we have given him so many new experiences. From taking on his first ball, to constant car rides, and discovering his mountain goat ancestry (more on that another day), his life has never been better. We couldn’t be happier in our current life!
Anyway! To celebrate our first Thanksgiving holiday as a family, Jack and I had our own photoshoot at Turkey Lake Park. We go to the park at least once a week to get fresh air and to take our mind away from any stress, so we knew it would be the best location for our session! Rocky was not about the photoshoot, even though his parents are photographers. The session was full of laughter, silly faces, and a crazy dog.
