Are you looking for a family-friendly destination in Florida? Clearwater is the perfect place to visit! With many different attractions and activities, there’s something for everyone. From amusement parks to beaches, this blog will help you find some of the best things to do in Clearwater Beach with kids.
Clearwater’s most famous attraction is the beach. With a wide, white sand edge and calm waters perfect for swimming, it’s a favorite spot with both locals and visitors alike. Be sure to pack sunblock! You can also rent paddleboards or kayaks from one of the many vendors on the pier. There are plenty of places that you can grab lunch before heading back out onto the water as well. Be sure to check out the Pier 60 Shopping Center on Clearwater Beach! It has everything you need including restaurants, shopping, arcades and even boat rentals!
The Clearwater Marine Aquarium is ranked as one of the top ten aquariums in Florida (and the world!) This picturesque facility showcases more than 500 species from around the globe with both salt and fresh water tanks. The best part is that if it’s raining outside, they offer an indoor rainforest exhibit with walk-through aviaries! Take your time exploring because inside there’s live tropical birds, sea otters, manatees – even some sharks! The staff members are always super helpful too – they’re happy to answer any questions about the animals or teach your child how feed them with little hands-on lessons that will make for great memories.
Kids love Largo Central Park, which features a water garden with whimsical fish sculptures and bubbling fountains. There’s also an interactive play fountain that will keep the kids entertained for hours. The park includes two lighted tennis courts, four sand volleyball courts, exercise stations and picnic tables. Bring your family to this Clearwater attraction on a summer evening to watch one of their popular concerts or have some ice cream from Smitty’s Creamery in the nearby food court!
The Boardwalk at Clearwater Beach is the perfect spot to end your day out with family when you’re not feeling up for any more outdoor adventures but still want a little fun before dinner time. There are carnival rides here along with games (including old fashioned ones) and restaurants galore! This boardwalk stretches out into the water and offers stunning views of Clearwater Beach. I absolutely love visiting the Boardwalk!
