The area is quite small so it is easy to walk through and navigate. It is also very “homey” so your experience won’t be as overwhelming for you and your family. If you’re not looking to dine or shop, the Siesta Key Village is also just a nice place to walk around and enjoy. Depending on the time of day, you may be able to stop and enjoy some local music and entertainment while you’re out there!
Sunset Point
I love a good hidden spot! Hidden near the beach, there is an absolutely beautiful area called Sunset Point. Here, there is a plethora of manmade rock formations where you and your family are able to hang out by. Let me tell you, you do not want to miss a sunset behind these rocks. While you’re here enjoying the view, it’s important to note that there isn’t much around like restaurants and bathrooms. However, that provides you and your family the wonderful opportunity to bring along a picnic. Nothing beats this fun evening with the kids!
Dolphin Cruise
One of the best things to do, and something you absolutely cannot miss out on, is a dolphin cruise. Siesta Key is home to one of the world’s largest populations of dolphins, with tons of pods hanging around the area every day. Embarking on a dolphin cruise is an experience like no other, and one you won’t be able to replicate with a pod in captivity. Here, you’ll be able to take part in a professionally-guided tour. Specialty Donuts
If you happen to have a sweet tooth like me, you’re going to love this one! Meaney’s Mini Donuts & Coffee House, located in Siesta Village, is a must! If these famous donuts peak your interest, I suggest getting there earlier in the day. They’re so good, there’s almost always a line. This sweet treat is a local delicacy and Meaney’s offers specialty flavors such as strawberry cheesecake and apple pie! This is one you surely “donut” want to miss out on!
