It’s one of my favorite times of year! No, not the holidays this time. ENGAGEMENT SEASON!! I was in this place myself last Christmas and it still brings me so much joy to celebrate engagements, especially around this time of year. This weekend, Jack and I headed out to Park Ave in Winter Park, Florida for a very special engagement session with Tori and Frank! If you saw us photograph on Park Ave in January, you know how much anxiety Park Ave gives me. But, oh my gosh guys. What we found at this session was absolutely crazy!
Meet Tori and Frank
As always though, I have to give a backstory. Tori and Frank’s relationship is so special and down-to-earth. A perfect match to Jack and I! Tori and Frank met on Bumble (a huge hit with my many of my couples!). Tori originally messaged Frank because he had a photo of himself holding his Dachshund like a baby. She LOVES dogs, as you’ll see in this session!
The couple had a good first date, but it wasn’t clear right away that they were a perfect fit. Tori said that somewhere between the first and second date, she started getting really excited about him. Frank was really easy and funny to talk to. She told him early in that second date that she wanted to delete my app and he should do the same, so they could focus on each other. They haven’t looked back since!
Tori and Frank enjoy a lot of the same day to day stuff – cooking, working on the house, exercising and bike riding, and running errands together. Just like us, they can turn running errands into a Saturday morning date by grabbing breakfast and coffee first!
The Proposal
Tori and Frank’s REAL proposal stories is one of my favorites, because honestly? It’s 10000% something Jack would have done. Frank was desperate to not only surprise Tori, but shock her as well. One day, Frank asked to go on a walk with the dogs, which is nothing unusual. He brought the ring with him and was super nervous. During the walk, Tori had to turn away from him to pick up the dog poop. Frank said, “Hey, Honey?” and Tori turned around, still with poop in her hand. He was down on one knee!! She stood there dazed, and the first thing she uttered was “right now?!”. He said “Yes, and hurry up so you don’t embarrass me, there are people coming!” Tori quickly blurted out yes, he put the ring on her finger, popped up like nothing had happened, and off they went.
To make up for the rushed event, Tori asked if they could have a do-over date that weekend. They got dressed up and went out for a nice dinner, traded handwritten cards and took photos. Everything turned out great in the end!
Winter Park Engagement on Park Ave
Tori and Frank’s favorite date spots are in Winter Park, Florida on Park Ave, so it was only fitting that their engagement session took place there! Jack and I arrived on Saturday evening to find that Park Ave was shut down for vehicles all weekend. This NEVER happens!!! The whole street was fairly peaceful and there weren’t really any crowds. AMAZING. We even got to take advantage of the empty streets at the very end of our session.
On a date night the weekend before, Tori and Frank explored and picked out some of the places they loved the most for their session. I absolutely love that! It truly makes the engagement session more special. We started the session in the rose garden and park with the dogs, because they are one of the biggest parts of Tori and Frank’s relationship! Then, we had a blast exploring Park Ave together while Tori’s mom and sister joined us with the pups.
Side note: Frank is such a goofball and got really into the session when he was able to do silly things like hide behind a column and creep on Tori, hip check her, and try to get Tori to lift him up. My kinda friend!!!
Tori and Frank, I am SO excited to be on this journey with you! You are both so sweet and just so much fun to be around. Your wedding day will be here before you know it (one year away!!!). Until then, take a peek into Tori and Frank’s engagement session in Winter Park, Florida on Park Ave!

"We had previously experienced Haleigh's work at my brother's wedding and we knew we had to have her for our wedding as well! Haleigh is an exceptionally gifted photographer and as we viewed the wedding album we got more and more excited about each wonderful moment that was perfectly captured. We loved how easy it was to work with Haleigh and all of the fun and creative ideas that she had to create some truly special pictures. Haleigh actually came up to the DC area for us - not once, but twice (engagement and wedding pics)! And yet despite the distance, it was really and truly easy to work with her."

"Haleigh and Jack are two of the most amazing, sincerest individuals that I have ever worked with! We adore them so much and they made my fiancé and I feel like pros while taking pictures. We had initially had our engagement pictures taken by someone else and they were really disappointing, so we turned to Haleigh and Jack and they made us feel so comfortable, had a BLAST (who knew taking pictures in the Florida heat could be fun?!), and our photos turned out so much more than amazing. We have found our forever photographer and we are so grateful to have had the experience to work with Haleigh and Jack (and of course Rocky, too!)"

""Haleigh and Jack are amazing! They had our wedding date available only three months out and their prices are ridiculously reasonable. They both take such amazing photos and Haleigh goes out of her way to make you feel special and pamper you a little bit. She even has an exclusive FB page for her brides where we all share tips and ask questions. Their photos are incredible and their post processing really gave us the feeling we were looking for in our photos. Plus, we got our photos back in less than two weeks! Lastly, my new husband isn’t the most social in the world and was nervous about having someone in his ready room but Jack made him totally comfortable and they got along great.""
