“Daniel, you’ve done some stupid things in your life. Being my best friend is number one. But, the day you told me you wanted to marry Nicole? That was the best decision you’ve ever made.” Nick, the best man, said it best during his speech at the reception of Nicole and Daniel’s wedding this past Friday. Nicole and Daniel are the perfect fit for one another. We were so blessed be a part of their Ever After Farms Peach Barn wedding.
Daniel and Nicole first met at a swing dance class in Charleston, South Carolina. Nicole is a Scenic and Projections designer for theatre and Daniel is in the military. Their relationship is nothing short of special. They love nerdy things of all shapes and sizes, trying new food, and going to new places and adventuring together. They became engaged at the Charleston Tea Plantation with their pups.
Nicole and Daniel planned their Ever After Farms Peach Barn wedding to fit the fall theme in Mims, Florida. From burgundy and navy color palettes to gorgeous sunflowers from Buds Etc Floral Studio, the fall season was very present during this wedding day. The outdoor ceremony space and the barn gave off a wonderful rustic vibe. Nicole entered the ceremony through beautiful grey barn doors. The barn was filled with uplifting quotes, table lanterns, and sunflowers. The amazing catering and cake from Monica’s Comfort Foods brought southern hospitality to the wedding. DJ Shane had the guests dancing and laughing non-stop.
The vows Daniel and Nicole recited to one another during the ceremony brought the crowd to tears. Daniel was stung by a wasp right before reading his vows, but it didn’t stop him from giving some of the most beautiful vows we’ve ever heard! Nicole and Daniel also had a fun choreographed swing dance for their first dance to bring back the beginning of their relationship. Her first dance with her father had us all tearing up too! Throughout the wedding day, you could feel the love from all of their family and friends. The mesh of their loved ones was easy and felt like one big family unit. They even made us feel like family members!!
We had two absolute favorite moments from their Ever After Farms Peach Barn wedding. The first was the unique idea from Nicole and Daniel. Instead of a typical dollar dance with the bride and groom, Nicole and Daniel set up two jars for guests to fill. Whoever had the most money in their jar received cake in the face from their spouse. Cake is often smashed out of nowhere during the cake cutting, so this made it more exciting and entertaining for the guests! Clearly, Daniel was going to win that challenge with all of his Citadel buddies at the wedding. Nicole had a blast shoving cake in his face!!
Our other favorite moment was portrait time with Nicole and Daniel. We had our engagement session with them earlier in the week to get to know one another and so they could learn how we work as a couple photography team. By the time they got to the wedding day, they were PROS at portraits! You could truly see their love and personalities come out in their portraits. Daniel was not a picture person and dreaded the engagement session beforehand. At the wedding, he pulled us aside and said that we truly made the portrait time of the day fun and enjoyable. Always something we love to hear, but seeing them love this time with one another is what truly brings us joy as wedding photographers.
Nicole and Daniel, we cannot thank you enough for having us at your Ever After Farms Peach Barn wedding. Getting to know you both this year has truly been an honor. We adore your love for one another and we felt like we made two new best friends! We cannot wait to see where your journey takes you next as a married couple. Have the BEST time in Paris!!
