As we enter into December, it’s time to ring in the Christmas season with a visit to Santa! While there are a lot of places where you can meet the jolly old man this winter, choosing the right place will elevate your child’s visit from a quick picture to an unforgettable experience. Here are a few of my favorite places to visit Santa in Winston-Salem and the Piedmont Triad!
Santa’s Workshop in the Hanes Mall gives your Winston-Salem family the chance to journey to the North Pole. The elves keep the lines moving efficiently, while the professional set will leave you with beautiful images. Check the schedule for days when your dog can visit Santa as well! The workshop is located on the first level at 3320 Silas Creek Pkwy, #264.
The Smith Hollow Farm invites you to spend a day partaking in exciting Christmas activities, including a visit to Santa just outside of Winston-Salem. Drink hot cocoa, make smores, do a craft, and go through a corn maze. The farm even gives you the chance to meet the Grinch! Smith Hollow Farm is located at 5920 Smith Hollow Road in Kernersville.
McLaurin Farms pairs your Santa visit with a one-of-a-kind light display a little outside of Winston-Salem. Bundle up so you can hop on the hayride and see the lights in style! The farm also offers Santa and Grinch meet-and-greets. The site itself is cash-only, but they do have an ATM on the farm. Visit at 5601 N. Church Street in Greensboro.
The Winston-Salem Mast General Store allows you to bring along your leashed dogs so everyone can experience some Christmas and Santa magic. Just make sure to bring your own camera! Mast General Store can be found at 515 N. Cherry St in Winston-Salem.
Zootastic Park uses over 4 million lights to create an awe-inspiring display! In addition to their drive-thru section, the park offers hot chocolate, carousel rides, and giraffe feedings. Plus, when you meet Santa, you also get to meet his pet kangaroos! The park is at 448 Pilch Road in Troutman.
Kersey Valley Christmas is a pet-friendly experience that offers light displays, train rides, wagon rides, fire pits for smores, and hands-on activities, including trampolines and ziplines. Santa is located inside a professional photo studio, giving you high-quality images not far from Winston-Salem. Find it all at 1615 Kersey Valley Road in Archdale.
At Millstone Creek Orchards, you can decorate cookies, meet some farm animals, go on a hayride, and make some food for Santa’s reindeer. You’ll get several pictures with Santa done by professionals. Reservations must be made in advance. Millstone Creek Orchards is located at 506 Parks Crossroads Church Road in Ramseur.
The Santa Experience at The Farm is an immersive Winston-Salem experience that lets you view Christmas lights from a hayride, take a stroll through their maze, decorate ornaments, write letters, go on inflatables, and meet some adorable animals. Wrap up the day by taking pictures with Santa on your own camera! Check it out at 768 Bray Ford Road in Dobson.
Santa’s Wonderland at Bass Pro Shops gives you the chance to take a picture with Santa in front of his rustic cabin in the North Pole. Yes, it is a bit of a drive from the Triad, but who doesn’t love Bass Pro? This one might be more for dad, but the kids will still love the adventure. The store lets you reserve your space beforehand, so you don’t have to wait all day to get in. You can visit at 801 Bass Pro Lane in Cary or 8181 Concord Mills Blvd in Concord.
