Pumpkin patch popularity is on the rise! Every year, more and more families seek out farms for seasonal entertainment, delicious autumnal treats, and of course, pumpkins! Here in farm country, there are several amazing pumpkin patches worth a visit, with plenty of amazing attractions and activities for everyone to enjoy. Here are some of the best Greensboro pumpkin patches recommended to me as a Greensboro family photographer for you to explore!

Celebrate The Season With A Visit To These Wonderful Greensboro Pumpkin Patches

McLaurin Farms

Once upon a time, McLaurin Farms raised cattle and vegetables. But today, their farm is dedicated to creating a family experience for everyone to enjoy! In 1991, they realized their calling was to turn their family farm into a place where visitors can get a taste of a simpler life and kids can be kids! Even selfie-loving teenagers will love a visit to the picturesque farm.

Now that fall is here in Greensboro, so is the McLaurin Farms pumpkin patch! On Saturdays and Sundays, you can bring your family to pick out the perfect pumpkins for carving, decorating, and baking. Your admission ticket to the pumpkin patch includes access to their inflatables, a grain train ride, and a glitter tattoo (but you can upgrade to face paint for an additional fee!) Meet the farm animals, enjoy the playground and 40-foot slide, and participate in plenty of other seasonal activities.

Refuel with a snack from the on-site food truck or treat yourself to a hand-dipped Hershey’s ice cream! Stop by their farm stand to pick up fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers, antiques, gifts, and so much more.

If you’re looking for more fall fun, McLaurin Farms also hosts a ticketed Trunk or Treat event as well as a Haunted Thrill Park aptly named “Woods of Terror.”

Millstone Creek Orchards

Millstone Creek Orchards began with planting rows of apple trees back in 2001, and a plan to sell them out of the back of a pickup truck. The Apple Barn opened to welcome U-pick visitors in 2004, and the rest is history. Their farm soon became a haven for families to learn about farming, make memories, and take home delicious fresh produce.

Millstone Creek Orchards, just outside Greensboro, has three huge pumpkin patches that grow over a dozen different pumpkins and gourds in each! Their pumpkins come in a variety of shapes, colors, sizes, and textures, so there really is something for every pumpkin picker. When you buy a ticket to the pumpkin patch, you’ll find yourself on an exciting adventure focused on pumpkin picking and education, as well as access to their homegrown patches. Your experience also includes an apple cider slushie, pumpkin seed tasting, and an orchard hayride.

If you’re planning on visiting over Halloween weekend, your ticket will also include a costume contest with cash prizes and pumpkin decorating. Be sure to check their website and social media for other special events like harvest parties, sunflower U-picks (with baby highland cows!), and pecan picking!

Kersey Valley Maize Adventure

You can visit Kersey Valley Adventure Park any time of year for a great time. But in the fall, this Greensboro area farm transforms into a seasonal wonderland with a pumpkin patch. Their epic corn maze is fun for the whole family (including leashed furry friends!) and just the thing to challenge your sense of direction. There’s also the ever-popular Kersey Valley Express Train that takes guests on a ride through the Wild West and Ghost Towns, as well as the Kids Cow Train Ride.

Their pumpkin patch features gorgeous, round, orange pumpkins that are perfect for carving and painting. Be sure to visit the Pumpkin House made entirely out of pumpkins for some great, unique photo ops, too!

Your kids will love playing the day away on the jumping pillows, Super Mega Ride-n-Slide, the treehouse adventure playground, pedal carts, kiddie ziplines, and so much more. Treat yourself to a hot apple cider donut or a caramel apple cider sundae. If you’re looking for a more substantial meal, the Tumbleweeds Grub House & Water Hole has corn dogs, funnel cakes, fried chicken sandwiches, and lots of other tasty treats.

Zane’s Clodbuster Farms

Zane Sells, the owner of Zane’s Clodbuster Farms, is the fifth generation of farmers in his family. He began his signature corn maze in 2009, opened his farm to the community, and has become a popular seasonal tradition ever since! Greensboro visitors love dropping by to tackle the 6-acre corn maze and picking their own pumpkin in the patch, but there’s so much more to experience!

One of the most popular attractions at Zane’s Clodbuster Farms is their hayride, which tours guests around the 87-acre farm. You’ll take in a 200-year-old farmhouse, pastures, ponds, and farm animals, all while enjoying fresh country air. Their pumpkin patch grows pumpkins and gourds of all shapes and colors, ideal for any autumnal decorating.

On the weekends, you can pick up a sweet treat like kettle corn or cotton candy, but the real treat is enjoying a crisp fall evening with a glowing fire. Their Old Farm store sells everything you need for s’mores, or you can bring your own.
